GRN Sponsors

The Global Restoration Network (GRN) is honored to have the following organizations as site sponsors. Their generous contribution of $5,000 or more has enabled the GRN create and host a vital resource for ecological restoration.

US Department of the Interior
The mission of the U.S. Department of the Interior’s (Department) Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration Program (Restoration Program) is to restore natural resources injured as a result of oil spills or hazardous substance releases into the environment.  In partnership with other affected state, Tribal, and Federal trustee agencies, damage assessments provide the basis for determining the restoration needs that address the public’s loss and use of these resources.

Island Press
Island Press was established in 1984 to meet the need for reliable, peer reviewed information to help solve environmental problems. We identify innovative thinkers and emerging trends in the environmental field. We work with world-renowned experts and aspiring authors to develop cross-disciplinary solutions to environmental challenges. Then we make sure this information is communicated effectively to the widest possible audience – via our books, electronic media, and outreach to scientists, policymakers, the news media, and the general public.

USDA Forest Service
Established in 1905, the Forest Service is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Forest Service manages public lands in national forests and grasslands. Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the Forest Service, summed up the mission of the Forest Service: “to provide the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people in the long run.”

Biohabitats Inc.
‘Restore The Earth And Inspire Ecological Stewardship’: A bold mission, but is it possible in today’s world of ever changing land use? You bet it is. Since pioneering the practice of ecological restoration in the 1980s, Biohabitats has been combining sound science with integrated design to protect and restore natural habitats throughout the world.

The people of Chevron are committed to partnership as a key building block of the company’s overall performance. Our success demands the highest standards of social, economic and environmental responsibility across our operations worldwide. We take pride in producing safe, reliable and affordable energy, knowing that it is critical for economic development, and helping to improve the standard of living around the world.

Temper of the Times Foundation Inc.
The Foundation was created by the board of directors of The Moneypaper, Inc., in 1997. Recognizing that organizations working to protect the environment in general have limited access to paid media, the Foundation provides funds to underwrite advertising designed to promote the conservation and restoration of native wildlife, plants, and ecosystems in the United States.

Blackwell Publishing
Blackwell’s mission is to provide an expert publishing service to other experts enabling them to do their jobs better. We aim continuously to improve the quality and effectiveness of our products and services. Just as we support the advance of knowledge and learning, we are constantly developing our own professional skills too.
